IBM MAXIMO APPLICATION SUITE (MAS)

IBM® Maximo® Application Suite is a set of applications for asset management, monitoring, predictive and reliability maintenance.

This single integrated cloud platform uses AI, IoT, and advanced analytic tools, to optimize performance, extend asset lifecycles and reduce downtime and costs.

With its new architecture based on RED HAT Open Shift, MAS users will have access to configurable applications such as enterprise asset management (EAM), asset performance management (APM) and reliability centered management (RCM), enabling better deployment and administration, as well as enhancing user experience and shared data and work flows.

MIGRATING FROM IBM MAXIMO EAM TO MAXIMO APPLICATION SUITE (MAS)

Migration process consists of an initial test, followed by the production stage once the initial test is satisfactory.

We recommend to display and test Maximo Application Suite in several not production environments before the production environment.

Migration process supports the following elements of Maximo Asset Management systems:

  • All data
  • All customizations. A customization file must be created to store specific changes, such as Java™ classes, XML files and data base scripts. Customization file may be created in a site accessible for IBM® Maximo Application Suite during layout.  Structure of customization files is the same as the structure of Maximo Asset Management folders.
  • Data models
  • User interface and presentation layer
  • Workflow processes
  • Data Validation and predetermined values
  • Scalabilities

When updating Maximo Asset Management to Maximo Manage, the following elements will not be supported during update:

  • Migration process does not directly support update from Maximo Asset Management to Maximo Manage. Maximo Application Suite must be installed first before displaying Maximo Manage, as an internal application.
  • Migration process does not support migration of integration definitions specified in Maximo Asset Management. Integration must be set up as part of the update.
  • Update of one data base platform to another. For example, it cannot be updated from a Maximo Asset Management that uses Oracle data base to Maximo Manage that uses Db2® data base.
